Meet Dr. Rihki Kennebrew

An Award-Winning Film composer and English Language Art Educator at Imhotep Institute Charter High School, Dr. Kennebrew has created AI’s first Black AI film cinematic feature series.

Dr. Rihki Kennebrew earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Fielding University in 2020, defying the challenges posed by the pandemic. Before this, he obtained his master's degree in early child education from Lincoln University in 2017, followed by a second master's degree and teacher certification in Secondary English from Goddard College in 2022.

he continues to excel as a ground-breaking writer, crafting captivating tales destined for both screen and stage. However, within the realm of AI, Dr. Kennebrew truly shines, wielding his remarkable skills to craft characters and images that transcend boundaries. His work on "Welcome to The Black Joy Galaxy" stands as a testament to his unparalleled talent, where his character and image design redefine the very fabric of storytelling. Dr. Kennebrew's artistry not only captivates but also inspires, paving the way for a new era of creativity and inclusion in the world of cinema.

how the film evolved

Dr. Kennebrew's remarkable academic achievements are the foundation for his creative endeavors. His film is derived from his doctoral dissertation some years ago. Dr. Kennebrew stated, “I started filming before the Covid-19 scare. During this time, the Black Lives Matter movement was prevalent due to the unthinkable violence African Americans were experiencing. While discussing this subject with my 5th grade class at Global Leadership Academy West, a young girl asked, will black people still be around in 2099? She stated people act really mean to us!

My response was that in the next 15 years, you might have options other than Earth to live on.”Dr. Kennebrew stated,

“I thought about it and then came up with a likely outcome from them banning books, civil injustice, police brutality, and just cruelty to mankind; the Black Joy Galaxy may be the ramification of this.”
